Custom Web Design

Custom Web Design is for businesses whose website cannot be reduced to a logo swap and five standard sections. We combine discovery, information architecture, original interface design, Astro development, integrations, migration planning, and quality assurance into one deliberate build.

Custom does not mean adding animation until the invoice looks expensive. It means the structure, components, content model, and technical choices are made for the business instead of inherited from a generic theme.

What makes a website genuinely custom

A custom engagement begins before a homepage layout. We examine the offer, audiences, search demand, sales process, existing content, analytics, operational constraints, brand system, and technical stack. That work produces an architecture and creative direction built around the actual problem. Original components follow the content instead of forcing every idea into a preset card. The design system defines typography, spacing, color, interaction, media, forms, and editorial patterns so the site stays coherent as it grows. If a familiar pattern solves the job, we use it; custom work is not an excuse to make navigation strange.

Content modeling before page production

Large and complex websites become inconsistent when every page is treated as a one-off canvas. We identify reusable content types such as services, industries, locations, team members, case studies, resources, and product data. Each type has required fields, relationships, and publishing rules. In Astro, typed data can fail the build when a required SEO field is missing instead of quietly publishing an incomplete page. This model makes redesigns easier to maintain, supports programmatic routes where appropriate, and gives search engines and AI systems a clearer graph of how the organization, people, services, and evidence connect.

Decision note 02: every page and feature has to earn its place through buyer value, search value, or operating value.

Integrations scoped as systems, not embeds

A CRM form, scheduling platform, ecommerce catalog, search tool, portal handoff, analytics stack, or product feed can change the architecture of a project. We confirm what data moves, who owns it, where errors go, what the user sees, and how the integration affects privacy, accessibility, performance, and security. A pasted script may be quick but can create layout shifts, blocked rendering, duplicate tracking, or inaccessible controls. Custom scope gives us room to test the entire handoff. When a vendor limitation remains, we document it instead of hiding the compromise.

Migrations require an inventory and a map

A redesign can damage years of search visibility when URLs, content, canonicals, and internal links change without a plan. We crawl the existing site, classify pages, identify traffic and link value, and decide what to keep, improve, consolidate, redirect, or retire. Every moved URL receives an explicit destination. Launch checks verify status codes, indexability, metadata, structured data, forms, analytics, and high-value journeys. The job is not complete when the new homepage looks right. It is complete when users and crawlers can reach the right content without falling through the migration.

Performance and accessibility have budgets

Custom visuals do not excuse a slow or unusable site. We define limits for JavaScript, third-party scripts, image weight, video behavior, and font loading. Components are built with semantic HTML, keyboard interaction, visible focus, readable contrast, stable dimensions, and reduced-motion behavior. The site is tested at representative breakpoints and on real navigation paths, not just as a wide desktop screenshot. Cloudflare serves the static output close to users, while long-lived caching keeps versioned assets efficient. Performance is treated as a design constraint from the first concept, not a cleanup task before launch.

Specific work.
No vague bundle.

Deep discovery

Stakeholders, audiences, content, analytics, operations, and technical constraints.

Information architecture

A tested page and content model built around decisions and discovery.

Original design system

Custom typography, components, media, motion, forms, and editorial rules.

Astro engineering

Static-first implementation with minimal client JavaScript and strict types.

Integration design

CRM, scheduling, search, catalog, analytics, or other approved workflows.

Migration plan

Content inventory, URL mapping, redirects, canonicals, and launch monitoring.

Quality assurance

Responsive, accessibility, performance, metadata, link, and form checks.

Handoff and ownership

Source, assets, operating guidance, and a defined support boundary.

Four phases.
No disappearing act.

01 / Diagnose

Scope the real problem

We review the offer, audience, current site, content, search opportunity, proof, technical needs, and approval path before promising a page count.

02 / Organize

Build the content map

Every page receives one job, one primary topic, required proof, internal links, and a clear next action. Thin ideas are combined rather than padded.

03 / Make

Design and develop

The visual system and Astro components are built together so responsive behavior, accessibility, performance, and content remain aligned.

04 / Prove

Test and launch

We check routes, metadata, schema, forms, links, responsive layouts, focus states, image weight, status codes, redirects, and the production deployment.

Choose by complexity,
not ambition.

A focused business can be ambitious without buying an enterprise build. The professional package covers a clear marketing site when content and integrations are straightforward. The custom tier exists for original systems, deeper strategy, migration risk, ecommerce, complex data, or multiple stakeholders. The subsidized plan is deliberately capped so the price remains sustainable.

Why does custom web design start at $4,900?

The price covers more than page assembly: discovery, architecture, original interface work, content modeling, engineering, responsive behavior, integration planning, migration protection, and quality assurance. The final investment depends on page types, content, systems, stakeholders, and risk.

Can you build from our existing brand system?

Yes. We can apply and extend an established system or identify the web rules it is missing. If the brand itself needs naming, identity, or a major strategic change, we scope that explicitly rather than burying brand work inside web production.

Do you use templates in custom projects?

We use proven interaction patterns and reusable engineering, but not a predesigned site with swapped colors. The architecture and visible component system are created for the project. Reuse should improve reliability, not make every client look the same.

Can you work with our internal developers?

Yes. We can provide design and front-end delivery, collaborate on integration contracts, or own the Astro site while an internal team manages other systems. Responsibilities, repositories, environments, review, and deployment authority are defined at kickoff.

What happens after launch?

We verify the production site, fix defects inside the agreed launch window, and provide the handoff defined in scope. Ongoing development, content, SEO, experimentation, or support can be arranged separately. You are not forced into an unexplained retainer to keep ownership.
